The project strives to express and promote connection across the scattered spaces and places of the Lakota people. To experience Woksape Tipi is to begin a journey, one that connects the visitor to the land and their own extended community, and then reveals their history, through stories (oral and visual storytelling) and touch (artifacts and leaving an imprint on the physical space). This journey continues upon leaving, as the visitor takes away knowledge and understanding that is then shared with others, strengthening the connection of the Lakota Nation through this shared journey.
